for my lidded project i decided to make a Hunny pot. Whine the Pooh was one of my favorite shows as a kid so i made a hunny pot in honor of my favorite honey loving bear. when i paint it, the old and top part will be brown, the bottom half will be white and the letters will be red. the bee will be yellow.
here's my cup that i threw on the wheel. i carved a bunch of squiggles into the side and the handle has a little swirl at the bottom that i think makes it more unique. i'll either paint it white with a bunch of different colors or contrasting colors between the squiggles and base. but i really like pink so there will be pink.
this is the vase i made today after i killed my first tall vase. it was to dry and it cracked as i footed it. the entire top fell apart and i had to start over. but honestly i like this one a lot more. its larger and I'm happy i made a large wheel project finally. we'll have to see how it turns out once its fired!
this is my glazed bowl before the glaze kiln. i used metallic copper on the inside and a little bit of metallic brown on the pattern on the out side. lets see how it turns out!
bad picture but this is my first bowl after the kiln. not sure what to do yet(glaze wise) but its quite small....
for one of my choice projects i decided to make a candle holder which will cast shadows against walls of a dark room. my inspiration for this piece was Vincent Van Gohs "Starry Night." i copied his tree, i will copy his town, i made the moon the same shape, five stars and one large one next to the tree and of course the famous pattern of the sky.
